Useful Skills in Moving Ideas into Reality

Useful Skills in Moving Ideas into Reality

Many innovators use the progressive innovation process. This option provides a detailed plan for configuring the innovation process. First it distinguishes between “fuzzy front-end” and “sticky back-end”. The lack of clarity at the beginning of the innovation process cause “fuzzy front-end” term. One survey reveals that only one of the seven new product ideas has been successfully launched and commercialized.  What is happening the other 6? They were stuck in the development phase. Because they didn’t get enough resources, they didn’t get enough priorities, or they looked like inapplicable.

So, the beginning is always blurry. Creating new things, products, services, or business models is not easy. My favorite part is this challenge indeed.

I would like to share with you 3 practical suggestions that will be enlightening in the stage of implementing innovation.

Connect, Customer and Creativity

Connect

An innovation project is turned to one of the regular projects after crossing the first stages. The important question to ask is: How do you make your innovation project stand out and attract the attention of decision-makers?

  • Extended project team with senior executives within the company.
  • Ensure that extended project team members are aware of every progress that has been made.
  • Show project progress in short time intervals like a week or 2 weeks

After becoming part of the team, members will support the end. Therefore, you achieve to connect someone from the top level to your project during implementation.

Customer

The real struggle in innovation is experienced within the corporation is many colleagues and supervisors spend the all day appealing daily tasks. When you start your innovation project, Find a customer (internal or external) and use the voice of the customer to confirm your choices. Get regular feedback about your concept or prototypes from potential customers. Use their excitement to get higher priority and more resources within the organization. Use the voice of the customer …

Creativity

Many people associate the initial phase with creativity and the last stage with structured project management. In TDG, the initial phase of the project is highly structured. In the final phase, we need something more than regular project management. Even if the spirit of the innovative concept is created in the initial phase, you must remain flexible and creative throughout the whole process. To overcome complex issues to opportunities, you will need professional brainstorming tools and creativity more than ever. In order to help your achievement, continue to use your first phase idea generation skill at the last stage of your project. This will turn you into a professional innovator.

I wish you all will be “Proactive Innovation Trusted Partner” for your society.

Best Regards
