How can I apply to Coder in Action Event?
First, You need to fill the Coder in Action Application Form as detailed as possible. Please attach your cover letter and your project’s info in PDF format. You can apply until 31st of May of each year.
How will my application will be processed?
After 1st of June, CiA Board will evaluate your application and if you will get the approval, you will be notified by e-mail (coderinaction@td-grp.com) until 30th of June. Please check your e-mail (and spam folder) regularly. If you are not notified positively until 30th of June you can understand your project was not approved.
What will happen after the approval of CiA Board?
You need to finalize and send your code, demo, pilot and presentation of your project until 30th of July. CiA will let you know your demo date. Your demo and presentation will be in online environment.
After the completion of all selected projects, CiA Board will announce the Winners on August 30. Please check Newsroom on August 30. And If you (or your team) is one of the Winners you will continue to process. You will get your Prize, and you will be evaluated by TDG HR if you are interested on some positions in TDG. And you will continue with Pirtlat Board for additional investment opportunities for your project.
How will be the intellectual property right of my project? Will we sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement)?
You will have your project’s intellectual property rights until the Pirtlat Board decided to make an investment. After that point TDG will sign an agreement with you. There is no NDA is signed until the Pirtlat Board decided to invest.
I am TDGers, can I apply to the competition?
Yes, Coder in Action (CiA) is an open event for inside and outside of TDG organization. You can apply for yourself or your team. Team may consist of TDGers and non-TDGers at the same time.
What is the evaluation criteria for winners?
CiA Board will score each project as mainly supporting TDG’s values like Innovation (innovation & creativity level), Excellence (code and documentation quality) and Work Ethics (alignment with corporate and community ethic rules). Also other additional parameters are “Supporting Social Good”, “Sustainability Level”, “Has a Vision or not”, “Inspire the Community”, “Easy to Develop”, “Easy to Use”, “Positive Disruption Level on life”.
Who will evaluate my project? Who does the evaluation board consist of?
CiA Evaluation Board consist of TDG’s Board of Advisory and the Executive Committee.
Is there any age limitation to join Coder in Action Competition?
There is no age limitation. If you are under 18 years old you just need to show your parents consent letter only. Diversity is the one of the major program we are executing. Our people come from a broad spectrum of genders, sexualities, ages, ethnicities and lifestyles, and our goal is to provide them with equal opportunities and an inclusive working culture.
Is there any limitation for Neurodiverse people?
There is no limit, Neurodiverse competitors are happily welcome. We are waiting for all Neurodiverse (autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder) people. Our Diversity Programs covers Neurodiverse people as well.
How will be the project information document format?
There is no specific format. Depending on maturity of your project (or idea), you can write draft description and/or add some supportive graphs, drawings and quotations.
What is the subject of Coder in Action this year?
2020-Pandemic, 2021-Earthquakes, 2022-Climate Change, 2023-Pollution
What will the winner(s) get?
1st Place Winner Prize – 2.000 USD
2nd Place Winner Prize – 1.000 USD
3rd Place Winner Prize – 500 USD
